Open Board Member Positions

There are currently two open positions on Discovery’s Board of Directors. These positions are voluntary. You can read the descriptions below.

Director of Public Relations

The Director of Public Relations Responsibilities

1. The timing, construction, and submission of press releases, regarding anything The Lab offers or does, which is worthy of announcement.
2. The development of new and untraditional ways to communicate The Lab’s work to the general public.
3. Overseeing audience concerns: e.g. Questions get answered in a clear and timely manner. Also plans or oversees: House management, ticketing services, accessibility, etc.

Director of Education

The Director of Education’s Responsibilities:

1. The development of relationships between Discovery Theatre Lab and area schools and educational institutes.
2. Communication about Discovery Theatre Lab’s activities and opportunities to area schools and educational institutes. E.G.: Productions and touring plays available to schools. Upcoming auditions, classes and workshops, and internships.
3. The development of “play guides”.
4. Works with the Artistic Director to develop new educational opportunities within Discovery Theatre Lab.
